Emirates Cement Factory started operations in 1976 with on production at a design capacity of 200 000 tons of cement per annum. Today, the company operates two production lines with a combined annual clinker capacity of 813 000 tons and cement milling capacity of 1.2 million tons. |

Cement
is the
only
fully
fledged
cement
company
in Abu
Dhabi.

| Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) |
A hydraulic cement produced through pulverizing clinker
Made from hydraulic calcium silicates and calcium sulphate.
One of the widely used materials throughout the world and standard cement in most construction applications. |
| Sulphate-Resistant Cement (SRC) |
Mostly used in corrosive environments (foundations, basements, and waste water systems).
Has a limited content of calcium aluminates compared to OPC. |
| Type II Cement |
A combination of OPC and SRC used in construction environments with milder corrosion elements |
| Slag Cement |
An improved version of SRC, used in sewerage and underwater construction

| Clinker |
An intermediate by product of cement production, clinker is a hardened small ball of cement that is then ground and milled to produce the finished product.
Emirates Cement sells clinker to other cement plants depending on its own levels of demand. |

Emirates
Cement
Factory’s
plant is
located
in Al
Ain, on
a
160,000
m2 plot.
The
company’s
site is
near the
quarries
that
provide
raw
materials
for
cement.
Emirates
Cement
Factory
is
currently
undertaking
a major
expansion,
through
the
establishment
of a new
fully
integrated
cement
plant.
With the
name Al
Ain
Cement,
this new
plant
will be
located
south of
Al Ain
city, on
a 2.2 m2
plot.
The new
cement
plant is
being
constructed
under a
turnkey
agreement
between
Arkan
and
China
National
Building
Materials
Equipment
Co. (CBMEC)
– Sinoma
Group.
The
agreement,
concluded
on March
19,
2006,
provides
for a
3.1
million
clinker
production
capacity
plant.
Construction
work on
Al Ain
Cement
started
in mid
2006.
Production
is
expected
to
commence
in early
2008. Al
Ain
Cement
will
secure
its raw
materials
through
long-term
contracts
with
local
and
regional
suppliers. |

Emirates Concrete produces a full product mix of 19 block types, including hollow, solid and hourdi blocks.
Emirates Concrete also produces concrete paving tiles are used in of sidewalks, streets, terraces, gardens, public yards and house floors. Paving tiles are produced in a large variety of shapes, sizes, thicknesses and colours. |
